Licensing & total cost

ERPNext is fully open source — no per-user license, ever. Odoo Community is also free, but the features most businesses want (full accounting, Studio ...) live in Odoo Enterprise, which is licensed per user per month. For a 50-user company, that difference is real money every year.

Customization depth

Odoo's ecosystem is far larger: more modules, more OCA community code, more developers. Complex manufacturing, multi-company consolidation and advanced eCommerce are more mature in Odoo. ERPNext's Frappe framework is elegant and fast to customize, but the third-party ecosystem is smaller.
